Zhang Juzheng

Zhang Juzheng's former residence is a national AAA tourist attraction, located in the eastern corner of Jingzhou City, formerly known as "Senior Secretary Zhang's residence". In 1572, Zhang Juzheng constructed this to collect the calligraphy praised by Emperor Wanli. At the end of Ming Dynasty, it was changed to "Zhang Wenzhong Ancestral Hall" and at the beginning of Qing Dynasty it was called "Prime minister's old Mansion". In the early 1980s, when the old city was rebuilt, Zhang Juzheng Street was built. In 2008, Zhang Juzheng's former residence was restored and opened to public.

City of Prime Minister

Chu which has nurtured myriad talents and is praise as the cradle of talents has no shortage of intelligent all the time. From Sun Shuao, the best"Xunli"（honest and upright official） in pre-Qin China, to Zhang Juzheng, the outstanding prime minister, Jingzhou has cultivated 138 prime ministers, which is a city of prime ministers. In addition, there were also Quyuan, who assisted the King Huai of Chu in the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period, Liu Po, Duan Wenchang, Cen Wenben, Cen Changqian,Cen Xi,prime ministers in Tang dynasty, Tang Jie, the Prime Minister of Song Dynasty, the Prime Minister Yang Pu in Ming dynasty and so on. The rich land gave birth to countless outstanding figures in the history, and also added dazzling elements to the culture of Jingchu.
